I try to do a formal sitting with Nancy once a year. Our kids look forward to it, and it's a great chance to use a lot of gear :-). My kit was a d200, my favorite portrait lens - the 85/1.4, a backdrop, a couple of strobes with umbrellas, an su800 wireless commander, and the Phottix N1 rf remote to trigger everything. Whew. I'd hate to add up the expense of all that stuff.

It took about 25 shots to come up with an official 2009 portrait that was acceptable to my bride.

Once that was over, I stepped out of the frame and took a shot of Nancy for her IM avatar.
