Hawk, all of what you say has some truth to it... until it doesn't.

i think the dollar cracks as they need to attract more debt than the world saves this year.iow, china doesn't save enough to buy all the tbills we need to sell, even if they wanted them.

remember, we need about $2 trillion to pay for the deficit and the stimulus plan. add another $1-1.5 trillion for prior tbills coming due.

we are now talking $3-3.5 trillion in new debt.

oh, and i think tax receipts cme in lower than expected come april 15th, so the deficit will likely be revised up in a *big* way.

running the printing presses is the only way to go... and i that should scare heavy investors in us tbills.

just like the mortgage fiasco was a game of musical chairs, i believe we are seeing tbill musical chairs. you are correct - the music is still playing for now.

i'm betting it stops at some point in the near to mid term.
