Thought is underwritten by assumption. Assumption is founded upon what you believe to be sensible, then proceeding to reason with regards to the merits of anything that can make sense of the matter. Beliefs about a matter are then confirmed or rejected by thoughtful consideration of evidence. When someone does not give thoughtful consideration to the beliefs which underlie their world view, it is probably because they are afraid of how changing or modifying their world view would effect them. Whether founded or cofounded in science and religion beliefs are undeniable, they exist, you have beliefs and your thoughts spring from those beliefs, and are confirmed by beliefs.

Many people who’ve never analyzed a single scientific theorem, or engaged in scientific exploration are happy to proclaim their belief only in things that can be proven scientifically; while, many people who’ve never sought clarity in issues of faith or lived a life of principle will proclaim themselves devout members of a particular religious sect.

And religion is not science.

On this self-evident statement, we are in agreement.
