>> What is his evidence?

His principal evidence, if I recall correctly, was from an interview with the Sudanese Minister of Defense (whose name escapes me).

But the Clinton remarks given in a speech just after he left office, which were REVERSED in his 9/11 commission testimony, is totally adequate.

This is one of those places where the term "inarguable" is appropriate. You have Clinton admitting it. You have him later changing his testimony to avoid taking responsibility. You have the guy who made the offer saying it. There really isn't any doubt about it, unless you think that Berger & Clinton changing there statements before the 9/11 commission creates doubt. It doesn't. Everyone who matters WAS in agreement until Clinton realized that he was going to take the blame for 9/11 if he didn't change his story.

I would point out that in his book, Lawrence Wright goes into some detail about why his interview was credible. He also points out that the people who claim it didn't happen were not there.

As to your remarks about the Saudis, it is true that Clinton tried to get the Saudis to take bin Laden. That's because Clinton "didn't have anything on him" and thought it ought to be treated as a criminal manner (seems like that would have been a great time to call the GTMO facility into use, since he apparently had previously done so).

The Saudis didn't want him. Hell, they had already kicked his ass out, they didn't want him back. They thought he was nuts.

Anyway, the facts are clear. Clinton refused to take UBL because Clinton didn't know what to do with him.
