Why do we have to impose our religious views?

It seems to be a constant theme, always accompanied by where's the harm or it's for their own good or the like.

The sheer number of Americans who would support a state-sponsored mandated religion is astounding. Of course, they assume that what is forced on kids like that could NEVER be something they hate or fear. They'd howl like banshees if state power was used by some other group to push the WRONG theology on their kids. Pushing their own views on people of other faiths or no faith is...well, they really don't seem to care.

We live in a society where a significant slice of people really don't believe in much of our Constitution. Pity.

My response was to you saying this:

They are able to teach ID in any religious and private school setting that will have them

But I think I misunderstood you. You were saying, I think, that since religious folk have the opportunity to teach what they want, leave it at that. Personally, I'm OK with stripping everything religious out of the public schools, so leaving it at that is OK with me.

Sorry for the confusion.

There are a lot of people who do not believe in the Bible. Why do we have to impose our religious views?

Who's imposing religious views? Religious schools can't "draft" students.
