The kind of environmentalists I respect are conservatives. They seek to conserve as opposed to preserve. Enviro whackos are largely responsible for many of the wildfires since harvesting seems to be prohibited. Oops the wild fires seem to result in something other than preservation too. What is the difference between 100,000 acre clear cut and 100,000 acre wild fire? About a billion dollars, half in revenue forgone and half in excess expenses. (Ok, I totally made up the dollar figures.) Forest management practices don't result in large scale clear cuts...
