In 1947 the UN realizes that jews and arabs arent going to live together and partition the country. Arabs declare war and send their armies in to defeat the Jewish state. Local arabs implore their people to leave the area of the fighting. Jews take advantage of this opportunity to expand their area as they win the war. Then we get 20 years of intransigence on the part of arab states who will neither recogize right of israel to exist or negotiate peace. Arab states control WB and Gaza. Gaza is turned into one giant refugee camp---the only such camp from deep in the past still standing today. They use the camp to scapegoat israel and creating PR for Pal cause elsewhere in the world. Then in 67 arabs get ready to attack, thinking they can wipe israel out. Slogan du jour back then was that they were going to drive all the jews into the sea. They lose. They lose WB and Gaza. Post 67 arabs now want to accept 47 borders or 48 armistice line. Now its 07 and Saudis offer 67 borders as solution. Always 20 years late. The facts on the ground are always changing. Folks here for the most part just dont understand the history not in terms of arabs lived there or jews have historical claim but modern history from post WW2 on.
