<<While many here and elsewhere on bearish threads want
free markets, the truth is, these markets have not been free for
quite some time, a decade or longer.>> i don't care, i am just bearish period,
i believe that the statement that economics is an inexact "science" is an euphemism for dart throwing blindfolded but pretending your theories actually be a like "science".
As Kenneth Galbraith famously said, Economist with methods and projections on their methods make Astrological Market Forecasters look good. Lol!

i am with Soros, stand far above the "the forest" and do not go into it, so one gets a sense of the BIG PICTURE.

That is what i do, and on looking down i see a lot of clowns running around the deck of a SINKING SHIP shouting "i got the solution!!!", when indeeed it is all noise, the Ship is SINKING Vi, get used it(VBG:) Max

Addendum.edit:On reading Marc Faber's news letter for sometime you realize regardless of his near to intermediate and moderately long calls, in the loooong run he has one certainty call, the COMPLETE FAILURE of the global financial system.

Again this is Faber just intuitively seeing the BIG PICTURE is a steady ststemic crumbling of the World Economic.
As Marc faber received his PHD in Economics at age 21(in Switzerland) and is also a master of the history of economics back thousands of years, i feel he knows what he is about.

He does NOT believe there has been any progress by economist to alter periods in history from cycling into UTTER COLLAPSE.
He, indeed, sees now, cause, for the greatest Global Collapse in human history.

But as is human nature the vast vast majority will NOT see this until after the fact, this again a lesson history teaches far far far bck into its past.
