When I was a young person I liked the French Riviera much better, especially when school was getting out.

It seemed there were good clubs in almost every big city in Italy, France, Germany, and England in those days.

Living in London is very difficult and draining, largely because people have to work so hard and so much to keep their heads above water financially. I have a number of friends living there for career reasons, and for each one it is a case of how long they will be able to last before they burn out.

That said, it is a great place to visit, very cosmopolitan. Young people from all over the EU have been flocking to London to work and to learn English, though that may change as people return home due to the economic downturn in the UK. And it is amazingly safe for a large city.

Given how expensive it is, I am very lucky to have a choice of friends to stay with when I go to London.
