- I presume this indicates how much money has been actually spent on each property.

Exact and therefore is irrelevant.

-but it raises some doubt in my mind as to whether the market price of DMM is "undervalued".

It should not if you understand the company assets and try to extrapolate a little and forecast future cash flows.

DMM potential is far superior to LSG on all counts, despite the fact that both companies have the same book value per share. More relevant is the absolute book value which is much lower for DMM dspite much higher potential in terms of futre cash flows.

Of course, if we take into account the potential political risk, which although greatly diminished with the passing of the mining law, will still remain long term, then we are allowed to have some down some doubt.

How useful have you found 'book value' to be over the years, as a gauge of imminent prospects ... it represents money spent, water under the bridge ... Washer has been in Ecuador for years putting this together, didn't just buy it yesterday, and from the whole history of the project he appears pretty efficient in accomplishment per buck expended .... sometimes 'goodwill' is included in 'book value', isn't it - meaningless

They're political tunes Dynasty dances to, song this morning is -

... so of course dmm does a mild downtick on low volume [?!] ... folks stacked up higher on the offers to sell on the news, no doubt ... c'est la guerre

Hochschild is a very bright individual, they say, so that's quite a recommendation of Lakeshore ... and it's doubled since early december lows, not doing too badly
