It's comforting to know cell phones will not pop your braincells. If they used emitted enough microwaves to pop popcorn, they probably would be too dangerous to use.

Behind my house where I used to live about five miles away and several thousand feet higher there was a microwave installation on what was once a fire lookout. The place had chain link fence around it and warned people to stay away.

My point: if you could be within a hundred yards of a microwave emitter that big without popping your brain, cell phones would probably be harmless.
