TJ, your gobs, pounds and servings, nausages, cyberphone and consciousness are all just tools, used by genes to compete in the dog eat dog world of DNA last man standing death match. So far, the ants and bacteria are winning by the numbers. Since victory is defined by who is here and who is not, we can say you are doing as well as a weta, as successfully as a centipede and as cheerfully as a chimp. But there's more to life than numbers. There is a tricky problem such as is the purpose of a hen to have eggs or of eggs to produce hens? We get into a circular argument of whether you are merely the tool used by CDMA and cyberspace or whether CDMA and cyberspace are the tools for you to collect and count gobs, pounds and servings. He used to write many pages of calculations and mumbo jumbo maths which was wayyyyyy beyond me. In such a short time, we now have ridiculously powerful fast, cheap, powerful little plug in memory sticks with fibre strung around the world and little netbooks like I am using now and you have there. And things can get better still in leaps and bounds. Transducers, fibre, wireless, switches, memory, 0s and 1s ... it is looking strangely familiar somehow, though fractal scaled up by many orders of magnitude with telomeres not a problem. A tool is something used by something to do something to serve the interests of that second something. Is the state a tool of the individual, or is the individual a tool of the state? That seems to be debatable, varies a lot, but for the most part they are treated as symbiotic, more or less. Meanwhile, keep sending money to It because It has a voracious appetite as rapidly growing youngsters full of growth hormone do. Are you a tool for CDMA/OFDM cyberspace or is it a tool for you?
