Not clear to me what the difference is between Paulsen's original stimulus plan to buy the banks' toxic assets, a plan later discarded and the current plan to set up a "bank" to do the same thing.

No I'm not living in a cave and neither are you. But you answered the question - the media. And the fact that it is the media spinning this doesn't say a lot. It was actually more of a rhetorical question and not aimed at you. Did you take it to mean I was aiming that at you? Sure there are some economists that seem to like the plan Slider. But quite incredibly smart and insightful economists have many other things to say about the stimulus plan.
