RE:"You guys are all ragging on Geithner for his income tax scamming, but, admit it - wouldn't we ALL have done the same thing?"

NO!

And I sure as hello wouldn't expect to get the nomination for Secretary of the Treasury.

Bullsh*t! Some still have a moral compass and/or a healthy fear of getting caught. Geithner apparently didn't have that, and frankly once he got caught and paid the back taxes (with no penalty - that still ticks me off), he probably lost little sleep over the matter. That's the problem - the sense of entitlement those on Wall Street (and he's really just a wall street agent in the government) still have.

You are defending a guy who is in charge of the most powerful Federal Reserve Bank in the country and cheated on his taxes?

The guy is a slimeball. He's very intelligent but he is still a slimeball, and that's the worst kind of slimeball. The fact that the Senate confirmed him tells everyone that they find that kind of behaviour acceptable, most likely because they do the same sorts of things.

I firmly believe most prisoners have a better, or at least stronger, set of ethics than the average US Senator.

He was reimbursed for the taxes that he was to supposed to have paid. It wasn't coming out of his own pocket.
