Lew, classy statements, and good timing, too! BTW, "that Driker character" joined SI in Dec 1996, and has posted on SI before...just to get the facts straight.

"Ho-boy... this thread is amazing."

You got that one right, Lew. Speaking of amazing. One of your prior posts suggested that the results would be out as late as this week, if the lab was "really slow." Now you indicate that this time frame, and even a few more weeks, was to be expected.

You suggest that the tone of some change based on their current holdings of IPM and I'm sure that is true to some extent. Since you are so interested in people's motivations, I will tell you that I happen to be longer on IPM right now than ever, and at a slight profit, but I am still grumbling. I'm not too worried that my grumbling is going to make much difference in what quantity of goodies are contained in the sands of Black Rock.

<<<If that's Theo Dupree I remember him being
a pretty decent guy -- and that line about the Caymans in his last post is unfortunate.
Aside from being illogical and baseless, those kinds of innuendos are just plain ugly.
No one is going to the Caymans, I thought we were past that. >>>>>
Lew,
When Bre-x came to pass, 3 different co-workers handed me the newspaper and asked " Isn't this the one your in?" I explained that I had been watching the story for months, but thats not the one I'm in.I had over a dozen people ask me the same thing without the paper in hand.
Theres only a few that have allocated "too much" to this one company. And we must beleive they have the goods. The rest of the world still controls the price.
I've heard this called a technology play, but I've only seen it as a a credibility play. When they hired Shaw, everyone (including you) seen it as a credibility play. I didn't. Had they hired anyone from another company, allright. But to hire the one and only person on the planet earth that could have contributed to a scam scenario is stupid IMO. I talked with Sams wife, and I'm in no way saying that there is justification for a scam scenario, but they could have done a lot better in that department by hiring someone from Lycos or Bateman. The price could never go this low if a signoff had been done on the 50 pound samples, then the 500, then the 2000. Me, you, Anne and CL all
have our own beleifs as to what will happen and when, but the rest of the world don't care about us enough to put everything on the line the same way we do.
BTW, my name is pronounced Doo-Pwee. Its only Dupree when I'm being dicussed by my Hollywood fans.
PS, I say Doopee
