Obviously people are unable to limit their intake of sugar and fat because...they taste good. The American diet corrupts wherever it goes. McDonalds and Starbucks are everywhere in the world, not because they offer necessary sustenance but because they provide stuff that feels good while you eat it.

Read "Why Civilizations Collapse" and others of that ilk.
