It put out a LOT of heat, almost too much for a bedroom fireplace.

Mine cranks out too much heat as well. I have the back door open when it's well below freezing outside to get the house temps down into the comfort range. Some thermostat, LOL!

In spite of the fact that you can't easily adjust the temp, I like it because it is cheap heat. I get really good cured firewood for $200 a cord, split delivered and stacked, and I still have heat when the power goes off, which happens infrequently around here, though I'm fairly out in the boondocks.

I also have a very good propane furnace for backup that I hardly ever use..
