The Titan Corporation Awarded $1.1 Million Modem Contract

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Titan Corporation (NYSE: TTN)
announced the award of a $1.1 million contract from a defense contractor for
the delivery of MD-1333/A modems to interoperate with the customer's highly
advanced military aircraft radios. Titan's modems are designed to increase
channel efficiency of the radios through the use of Demand Assigned Multiple
Access (DAMA) technology. The radios and modems will be installed together on
a variety of U.S. military aircraft.
According to Titan President and Chief Executive Officer Gene W. Ray, "We
are pleased with this procurement of modems. Titan Linkabit's modem will
provide more than an eightfold increase in SATCOM channel efficiency, and will
make the customer's radio fully compliant with military UHF SATCOM DAMA
requirements."
Titan's modem includes embedded encryption of orderwire transmissions and
growth slots for embedded Communications Security (COMSEC). Modems delivered
under this contract will be produced in San Diego, California.
