That seems like a question for the values clarification folks. But here is the reason forwarded some time ago...

Oh please.....not the koolaid. We went to Iraq to find WMDs. When none were found; it became a nation building exercise. I am not that stupid. Save it for the troops.

There is no partnership.....they care less about the US than you apparently know. We are the enemy....having killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and deplaced millions as collateral damage. They want us out so they can trash us in peace.
