I saw that piece in the WSJ today and thought it ironic for someone who worked with a president whose approval ratings ended up in the toilet, to be critical of how someone else will organize the White House staff.

I suspect the rule in the old White House was for Karl and the VP to decide how things should be, then take it to Bush to be blessed. Obama may benefit from having a few more voices and POVs involved.

The Obama White House May Be a Crowded Mess
There will be four people in my old office.
By KARL ROVE

I read this one over lunch today. It was a hoot. Obama runs a campaign that is a classically well organized one on so many levels it's almost impossible to count them. And Rove takes the disaster that was the Bush presidency to use as a standard.

Whoops. The management principle in the Bush WH appeared to be to check with the VP, whose offices were in the EEOB. No wonder there were so few at the WH.

Kyros -

For Rove to complain that the White House under Obama doesn't look like the Bush White House, and that therefore something is wrong with it, seems to be self serving and silly. And for him to say it will be too political, based on where people have their offices, is just too ironic.

Rove is very good at sounding as if he's being reasonable. But he rarely is, really.
