I suspect that's the problem in the instant case.

To be truthful, we've probably installed a couple hundred AMD machines in the last year, and they are trouble free. It really depends on who builds the systems more than anything else.

Of course, anyone who is running VISTA is just asking for trouble. Begging for it.
