Yes but the cabinet member could do some good

If you are going to have an active DoE doing many things, than yes it can make sense to have department level structure and cabinet representation. But if it isn't doing many things, what good do you get from having a cabinet member?

I understand you probably don't agree to getting rid of almost all the DoE's current jobs.

But if we do get rid of them (as unlikely as that may be) what good would you get from a cabinet level department head charged only with building and maintaining nuclear weapons, and eliminating nuclear waste do, that an agency or bureau head, or a cabinet head of the department the job was moved to couldn't do?
