Don't the Arts always need and get a government subsidy??? You think eliminating that pittance while make the economy recover?
And it will help struggling artists survive...they don't 10 million dollar bonuses

The arts gets their money from other appropriations. This is an additional in the stimulus bill that will do little to nothing to stimulate the economy. Just more Obama Porkarama stuff.

Except for an occasional statue in front of official buildings or a few pictures to hang on the walls of said buildings (with positive historical themes), the arts shouldn't get a penny of government money.

Most such money goes to support favorites of effete rich liberals. The theme is often 'let's give a finger to the commoners by spending their hard-earned tax money mocking something they love'. Remember the "piss Christ" and the picture of the virgin Mary made of elephant dung? Both NEA funded. Liberals. No wonder liberal is a dirty word.
