The solution?

Globalization is the great leveler.

Cheap labor countries will see their advantage disappear as labor becomes more expensive as they prosper and spend their surpluses; high labor cost countries will depend on services, IPR, brands, and cheaper labor. Marginal advantages will disappear and innovation will be the key. He who innovates the best, wins.

A big teeter-totter with swings becoming less pronounced. But some sort of reasonable equilibrium [a word I detest for there is never any equilibrium, just smaller swings] will come about. But it will take a very long time. And some sort of global currency will be required. That will happen too.

Maybe not in my lifetime.
