"Not in any way condoning what they did, but might be beginning to understand why they did it."

I've been thinking about that recent movie with Angelina Jolie where she was one of a group of assassins that killed the people that were f*cking up society. An idea who's time has come? Our LAWS certainly seem incapable..

I can't help thinking about what Bin Laden did...or Timothy McVeigh. Were/are they really evil or did they just have enough of the clowns running this country and willing to do something about it? Both attacked government institutions and/or Wall Street.

Not in any way condoning what they did, but might be beginning to understand why they did it.

Spend some time in the developing world - among poor people, not on the business/5 star circuit. You can start to get a feeling for the desperation they live with. The poor are not fools. They can see when army officers/police/politicians have an order of magnitude more than themselves. Many have access to TV or other media. They see how we in the West live. Do they feel screwed? I would.

Most of my experience is in Asia in Hindu and Buddhist countries. It's clear to me that the single most powerful cultural trait keeping things from boiling over is the concept of Karma. "I must have done something in my past life to deserve my station in this one. And so, probably has the rich guy."
