Here is a little piece from an interview he gave...

Benjamin: How would you describe your management style?

Humer: Oh, that's a difficult question to ask the person who is in charge. Probably participative, with trying to find the right moment in time when a decision needs to be made, listening to different opinions inside and outside and then taking the decision. Sometimes, also being able to take tough decisions alone. My management style is to try and stay as close to the markets as I can, I still today travel to many of our markets at least once a year to the big countries two or three times year, to get a sense of what is happening out there.

Benjamin: You mentioned the ability to make decisions alone? Is it often lonely being a CEO, because we see the other side ... a lot of money, a lot of travel, a lot of glitz on a certain level?

Humer: By the way, traveling is not as glamorous as it might look. Yes, sometimes life as a CEO can be lonely.

Benjamin: Why?

Humer: Because it's difficult to distinguish the different influences you're exposed to.... You cannot always trust all the people, and that's normal. People have their own agenda, they have their own goal, so you in the end you have to weigh those different things and you can only do that on your own.

I feel for him. :) Just kidding. I will say that every CEO probably thinks he/she has a participative style of mgt.

I love the move to cut the price to $86.50 to go hostile. It confirms a lot of what I know about these guys.

p.s. You are one well read dude.
