It is also easier for them to quit, especially if they only took enough for the pain. Rush admitted that he was taking more than that, but it was prescribed for his neck problem with high pain. He did not want to do the operation which required them to work through or around his voice box, which could end his career. Did he eventually have the operation?

I really didn't follow this incident.

The liberals enjoyed it just a bit too much.

Those who know about drug addiction recognize that it is a serious illness, not a political talking point or personal excess. I wonder if the libs would have enjoyed it that much if Limbaugh had been paralyzed in an auto accident or faced some other type of tragedy.

Personally, I'm impressed by his success at getting off of it. Painkiller addiction is tough for people to stop, and he apparently had the determination and will to do it and stay off. With his means he certainly could have continued to take Oxycontin if he'd not been determined to kick it.
