quite likely.

a basket seems reasonable.

problem: it is untested and unfamiliar. Unintended consequences abound.

So long as we print, there will be temptation to overprint. That is a lesson we should learn and genetically imprint on our successors. So long as it is just paper or electrons, temptation beckons.

I like to think about what would have happened if gold still backed the clownbuck but at an increased or fluctuating rate. Inflation probably would have been less. Temptation to overlend would not have been as severe.

We would have had a different set of troubles, I suppose.
