Maybe Dell can inbed some programs into the cellphones that link especially well to Dell desktop computers. This might create some added functionality that might distinguish the Dell phone and be attractive to its corporate desktop, business base. Otherwise, it's delving into a market that is becoming increasingly commoditized. Furthermore, to make money the manufacturer has to have high volumes. Presumably, the phones would be manufactured by an OEM manufacturer in Asia that already has a certain amount of volume.
