That's comparing army suicides in one year, to army suicides in other years. Its a negative development but

1 - Its about one year.

Its a freebie.

and
2 - Its not directly relevant to our conversation which was about military (not just army) suicide rates, compared to the general population of the same age, sex, wealth, etc.

I already have given you a comparison of military and non military men going forward from WW I.

"The point is that stories portraying very large numbers of Vietnam, and now Iraq vets as homeless psychotics who are a danger to themselves and/or others give a distorted image of reality, with vets not being particularly prone to being homeless or having higher than normal suicide and murder rates."

Above is the statement you made. My response was that there was much that was wrong with your's and the author's POV but I did not have the time to go through each point line by line. What I did show you, as did CJ, two different studies which state very clearly that the suicide rate for military men is twice the rate of non military men.

Ever since then you have been bouncing back and forth, waving your hands in the air and stamping your feet rather than admit that you were wrong.

Now either admit that the above statement you made re. military men and suicide is incorrect or move on. I refuse to continue a discussion where the other person will not admit when they have erred.
