The Computer and Communications Laboratories (CCL) of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) recently signed agreements with 13 telecom-system vendors to develop technology for affordable ADSL systems. (Snip) However, profit margins are limited because ASICs chips must be imported. For this reason, the CCL also plans to develop ADSL-transceiver ASIC chips to incorporate digital signal processing (DSP), analog-digital mixed-mode technology, equalization and echo cancellation. japanbiztech.com
