NOT! i started out fast and then after about 0.8 miles, i didn't pass anyone after that 'cause i was the passee, not the passer. and they passed me fast, too! -lol- about 90% of the way through the race, this chubby chick passed me up. i trailed her until i saw the finish line and then i started to kick it into high gear, relatively speaking, anyway... then i slowed down so i didn't pass her. i didn't want to be the guy who killed himself down the stretch to beat the chubby chick by 1 second. ooooooooh, tough guy, that one... -lol- she got the win this year - and deserved it. i'm going to run a timed 400m to see if i can drop my 75.xx second time down closer to 70 sec next week and then i hope to shave off about 20-30 seconds for my next 5k in about a 6 weeks - and get that chubby chick off my back for good... -lol- at some point i need to work on getting my mile time below 6 minutes... so many goals, so few days in a week. all in all, a fun good run and 24:50 is the time to beat going forward (8.01 min/mile). here's some inspiration...proteinpower.com zonediet.com during Dean's 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days tour, he was checked daily by a team of doctors. x-rays on his knees show them to be in as good shape as a teenager's knees. surely, his genetics are good, but he isn't about to let go of that two fisted grip on his diet that has treated him so well, either. ;-) guys in their mid 40s who win 155 mile footraces through the Atacama desert take their fueliing seriously.
