Do you really see World War II as a giant stimulus package? Government forced millions of its citizens to leave the country, many to die or be injured (I guess you could say that solved the unemployment problem!). absolutely, I do.. It certainly wasn't the program one would choose, you would have to be a lunatic to choose war as a way out of a depression. But, with war forced upon us, the war employed every possible hand.
