That should guarantee a DOW close below 8K...possibly 7.9K.

Somebody wrote recently that the DOW had become very distorted because the bank stocks which are heavily represented had fallen so much. Under normal times they would have been kicked out due to shrunken market cap. OF course it would be going against motherhood to say....kick out Citi.

I think that the implication is that banks no longer affect the DOW much.

Doesn't matter. Next week should be nice for shorts.

that assumes anyone solvent really wants much credit.

they don't, imho.
