Get with finding a solution and platform we can win on

Last night I attended an organizational meet for a gathering conservative/libertarian coalition that is actually doing stuff at the local level.

Last week they stopped a WA anti-property right bill from getting out of committee, have high hopes of repeating on another next week. Infiltrating at the precinct level, they have credible hopes of taking over the state Republican party by 2010. They're networking with sympathetic state house staff, reps and senators.

The discipline and talent was self-evident and impressive. Strategically exploiting key issues they are attracting support from those who'd not usually be supportive.

This particular group met at the center of one of the most pustulent bastions of liberalism in the country. Even if they prevail within the Repubs they may never totally win in Washington state. But, like Jack Nicholson and the Injun in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, they're making a run.

The claim was made that other states are even farther ahead in organizing and doing.

Better alternatives?

Anyone? Anyone?
