The discussion began with Reich claiming that he'd been misquoted or misunderstood in his remarks about jobs in the stimulus package not going to white subcontractors, etc.

Personally, I'd suggest that Robert use more care in his comments. They were certainly subject to the interpretation given them which he disputed.

The bottom line is that preferences will be given to minorities, whether they know how to do the work or not. Reich's comments suggest that the preference metrics will be skewed so that most of the funding goes to minorities. People who don't believe this are naive. The whole point of this package is to pay off the Dem base. When you realize that, you understand how it will function.

[And contrary to Reich's observations, there are many minorities already in the construction trades. I handle a lot of construction litigation. In the past ten years, I have had only one case that did not involve an Hispanic or person of color as the plaintiff. Most of the crews were similarly composed.]

Besides, just how much more affirmative action is needed these days? Some of the posters are still moaning about women and minorities as victims.
I thought we were supposed to be in an era of sweetness, light, hope and change.

All I've seen is the same old, same old, including the usual victim mentality.

And not just that--- some more Soros/moveon.org strong arm tactics:

It's amazing Comrade Baker is as oblivious as his cult how he projects his seething venom on the folks he so vehemently hates.

Unfrackin' believable!!!
