I live in Obama territory. What has our leader done here to improve black entry into skilled labor unions, the higher paid jobs? Not much that I can see all of the union residential construction I saw was with illegal aliens. I spoke with them daily while I had my house built here. I dont know that the 1 in 5 is much different than the national statistics. But no doubt the skilled trades are closed up by the unions that will keep entry to the field hard if not family or friends. Since the unions are democratic stronghold and have been I will be watching Obama to finally take the lead. He could say this money should not be used on projects where unions do not take in X% local minority youths for entry into the skilled trades. I will be waiting for this leadership from his administration.
