Invading Iraq was well received by the majority of the public, doesn't mean it made sense. Given that the spending bill will cost over $800,000,000,000, I think there are reasons for opposing it other than listening to Limbaugh and Hannity.

The minority of the public who are being misinformed about the bill and its intentions by the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity are, naturally, not as happy about it.

On "Inside Washington," a show I've long admired, the panel was more disappointed in the package than pleased. If you get a majority on that show, I doubt it's a minority view. One thing they mentioned is an idea provoked by Alice Rivlin, also long admired by me, to split the bill, pass first the 20% that is actual stimulus and do the rest afterwards, perhaps in the regular budget process. The panel seemed to thing that a reasonable and centrist approach.
