We've already seen some of that, it looks like he was at least involved with yanking the birth control stuff the Republicans were whining about. There is more crap this silly woman Pelosi allowed or put in...I am quickly moving towards the mindset that she ought to be replaced with someone more clever. She's given the repugnicans a terrific platform. When the bill gets better, they'll claim it was their contribution that did it. Al

Folks thought he was reaching out to house reps. What he was really doing is to let pelosi and co. blow off some steam with a typical liberal spending piece added to the stimulus. In the senate, we will soon get gang of 10 that should enable bill to pass with 65-70 votes. To get his he has to adopt a couple of the best of republican additions to the stimulus bill while removing equal dollars the most egregious of dem house add-ons. Now dont get me wrong i am for some of the dem add ons and I am wondering as Krugman does about where Health Care fits in. This country has a lot on its plate but treating the heart attack first and effectively is of prime importance.
