The taxability of non-cash fringe benefits like the ones Daschle recevied is very basic tax law that only an idiot would be ignorant of.....Like Geithner, Daschle is either corrupt or stupid....in neither case should he get this post.

After passing the bar exam, I successfully practiced law for 48 years and I am still practicing law.

I have several friends who are lawyers. They all used to be very stand up honest people. The ones who don't practice law remain closer to that standard than the ones who do practice law.

There is something about tring to skin a cat without killing it that tends to warp one's morals.
