By chance I met an Egyptian orthodox Christian NSA translator the other day(Friday). He has done tours in da Green Zone in Iraq, etc. He told me the US will never leave Iraq. Said the bases are permanent. Interesting fellow that left Cairo in the 70's after experiencing heavy discrimination for not being Muslim. Took the underground railroad through Lebannon to the US. Makes 70k/yr translating for security boyz. He is not anti-Muslim per se, but alluded that the anti-US hate instilled in the kids in Muslim schools from childhood is almost irreversible, fwiw. Of course, US support for Israel and bombing civilians only "proves" that the religious teachers are right in their assessment of the West.
