I did use lemon oil on the antique cabinet in the living room ...it had part of the ceiling dripped down on it from the upstairs leak in the bathroom. I was really thinking that because it was so caked on the wood we'd lose the top of the cabinet and have to have the whole thing redone...BUT lemon oil did soak into the wood, and disolved the plaster....

You're right...maybe it will work in the kitchen too...
