I was thinking the same thing Darrell. This thing is all over the place, giving shorts ample opp's. to cover. I still think in the intermediate term we could see some kind of short squeeze. For some reason it's hard to watch today, thinking it might keep going back down!

Well, it hit as high as $30 this am...I think the UBS downgrade of sector
is hurting the upside here short term. This reminds me of fall of 1996, I
was buying Speedfam, some of you may be familiar at $19 per share in May of
96. BUt they were in semi equip sector which was out of favor big time on
the street. SO SFAM kept smashing estimates and reporting good results and
the stock did nothing. Finally hitting a low of $9 in october I think. It
now trades at 47...and was as high as 60 about 3 weeks ago before the semi
equip sector ran out of favor again. Id say AMAT is a huge buy now at 34
today and so is SFAM whose business is quite strong. Cymi also in a strong
niche position with orders ramping up next year...so its a good time to keep
your head on straight and buy more shares...Im watching to steal some more
today...long at average of 28.15 per share, 3900 shares.... looking to
add 1000 more today

Just bad luck timing. Poor little ol' cymer could have been big news, yakked about at length on CNBC and elsewhere. But, with this world wide market turmoil, one, and then the Intel fab delay announcement coupled with the semi group downgrade no way to avoid being lost in the shuffle. So, no same day major recovery. But so what? Stock price eventually always follow earnings and the fundamentals are now officially intact. The funds can accumualate slowly and upgrade in a more friendly macro environment.
