We are a 4 legged animal that is walking upright so we put a lot of stress on our lower backs. I know only a handful of people who never have back pain. Just about the entire population even without a known injury will have problems periodically.

My real problems started with a fall down a flight of stairs carrying a 5 horse electric motor and landing right up my butt. Fractured 2 vertebra and screwed up the discs. That was in 85 and I made it to 89 and then had to relent and have surgery. Glad I did. My surgery could have even been 90 now that I think of it. I said 88 earlier but I know that is wrong because I was still farming then. At any rate I've had at least 19 good years since surgery.

Edit: Have you every tried Chiropractic? I can get some relief from them when I have spells. If your pain is still from scarring or what not they wouldn't be able to do much I expect.
