Obama would be forced by the perception of weak on FP dems to take very strong action in such a case. I have little doubt about this. Remember his FP team has biden and hillary who are not doves although they might have disagreed with some of bush policy. What worries me is what biden said in a moment of candor during the campaign about being tested. Osama may want to test Obama much like JFK was tested during Cuban missile crisis. However as you guys point out, the test maybe abroad at an american installation or in a european city in a country we are pledged to defend in order to make the US out as a paper tiger.
