Well, it was obviously more important to remove Saddam than actually "capturing" bin Laden. Bin Laden was neutered, so capturing him wasn't that important for the safety of America; it was important to many of us because we want revenge. Once bin Laden was neutered, converting Iraq to a democracy was far more important for the future of the USA. It isn't even a close call. Killing bin Laden would have been gratifying to us all; but moving Iraq to democracy will mean decades of better security for the United States. Bin Laden may make a resurgence. But there is no indication that doing anything differently in Iraq would have allowed us to capture bin Laden anyway. This is a bogus argument if ever there was one; had we stayed out of Iraq, what leads you to believe we would have caught bin Laden given we still have no idea where he is?Thats is precisely why you guys are so disconnected from the pain of an average American and lost the last 2 elections. The Rs lost the last election because Obama is one of the best public speakers to run for the office. That he narrowly won against McCain at a time when the Ds should, by all rights, have won it going away, speaks volumes. The reality is that Obama won because of a SINGLE constituency -- "Uninformed" voters. Without these people, he would not have won the election. These are first-time or infrequent voters who simply were not informed on this issues, and believed that campaign rhetoric of "Yes we can" actually means something. These are the same people who are finding out now that well, it really doesn't. He'll say anything to get elected just like John Kerry. Uninformed voters. That was the difference in this election. I guess it is still a Win, but it isn't really the way you would have wanted it.
