Blair and Britain with their experience from the colonial days should have known better - the culture, the terrian, the intercation between sunnis/shia/kurds etc etc. The Brits and Americans are 'cousins'....we think more alike that it would appear on the surface. The Europeans have always considered the Brits a bit rough. They must have felt they US something from WW2 days (and they certainly did, IMO) that they had to allign with the hawks. For some damn reason, Blair fell under the spell of Bush. Do you remember when they called Blair Bush's poodle? So long ago. Bush and he were going to clean up the world. Very stupid.
