You're right. Once designed in a customer doesn't easily switch from Mirrorbit/nrom to Strataflash/floatinggate or vice versa.

Spansion's troubles though should have negatively influenced their market share gains.

The fact that their inventory has been frozen means they can't sell anything.

You hardly expect Nokia to stop producing phones until Spansion gets enough money to pay their debts. In fact any savy company would have seen the writing on the wall and switched suppliers a long time ago.
