When I see a significant increase in short interest in a stock, I think that it has to be driven by major investors. Major Investors
usually have access to inside information or they are capable of
manipulating the stock. Maybe "smart money" isn't the right word?
Maybe someone with a "lot more clout" than you or I would be more appropriate.
