Don't be too surprised at the whipsaw action in SPCT today, just look at the 3 year price history of this stock. I've been in and out of this bugger and I missed most of the big rise this year because I was glad to get out with my shirt at $25. Even Leo (God bless him, he predicted the run to the recent highs) couldn't get me to stay in with his logical arguements.

Now, I'm wondering if my depth finder is working correctly and if I should do some bottom fishing here? Oh Leo, any suggestions now?

Been there, had that done to me,

Jay, it may not 30% margin next year if you consider SPCT tax rate has been 15% this year and will be 35% next year!

I still think there is something more than lower revenue from Nortel. We had the same problem 2 years ago when Nortel cut down its orders for Spectrian amplifiers... Maybe SPCT investors do not want to see the $10 stock again.

On TA side, I worry that this stock has no support till it drops to ~15, so it looks quite scary even at this level. People with gain will sell to get whatever out of it, people with loss will sell for tax purpose! This stock won't go anywhere soon till the end of the year.

Jay,

Thought you'd like to see this...

Oppenheimer issued Company Report
October 17, 1997

On October 6, 1997 Oppenheimer analyst Dale Pfau issued a 3 page Company Report on Spectrian Corporation. Report highlights: "A BUY rating was maintained based on assumptions that the company is the largest and most technically competent of the merchant power amplifier suppliers. The 12 month target price remained in the high $60's. The company reported first quarter EPS of $0.68 versus $0.66 in the same period last year."

FWIW- I was able to get in at $27-1/8.
